Sharon M. Yaakov, 80, passed away in her home on June 30th, 2023, with her daughter by her side. Sharon was born in Washington, DC on June 6th, 1943, and was the first child born to Leo and May Koenigsberg. She is survived by two children David and Rachel, her four grandchildren, Kayla, Ben, Boden, and Lucy, and her sister Lynn and brother in-law Hector.
Sharon Graduated from Northwood High School and went on to attend and graduate from American University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology, and a minor in art history. Sharon worked at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, in the library at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and enjoyed traveling all over the world. On her travels, while in Israel, she met her husband Yosef Yaakov on the beach. They soon were married and had two children, David and Rachel, and raised their family in the Washington, DC Metro area. Sharon worked alongside her husband in the family business beautifying homes with their window and wall coverings all while raising her two children with devotion and love. Sharon touched the lives of many and left her mark of kindness and integrity upon all she met. She will be held in everlasting loving memory.
