Scott was many things to many people. He was a dedicated family person that became the ringmaster for the circus we called the Krichbaum family. He was a friend that loved his network of friends and tried to show that in every way. He was an avid antique collector, loved penguins and Scotty dogs, cooking, traveling, pools (especially the ones that belong to others), the University of Maryland, and was an incredible teacher for over 30 years touching hundreds of students on their path to adulthood. But most of all, Scott was one of the most caring people I have ever been around. Scott’s unwavering dedication to his friends and family was truly inspirational and a model we should all strive to be more like. He would give anything, and everything, to anyone in his circle and was ALWAYS there when someone needed him. That was his purpose in life, and he fulfilled that calling in abundance.
• Friends and family are invited to gather at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20904 on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm.
• A celebration of his life will be held at the same location on January 25, 2023, at 11:00 followed by a brief graveside service at Parklawn Cemetery, 12800 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853.
• We will then move to the Norbeck Country Club, 17200 Cashell Rd, Rockville, MD 20853 for afternoon snacks, sandwiches, and desserts. We know how Scott loved his desserts.
And this wouldn’t be a Scott event without some planning and directions from him. During one of our conversations, he told me that he wanted a funeral with people laughing, telling stories, and enjoying each other. And knowing that Scott was the ultimate lounger who hated to dress up, he was very adamant that NOBODY wears a suit and tie. He would prefer if you wore your best Hawaiian shirt/dress/hat, as he will have his on.
Unfortunately, he leaves an everlasting hole in our lives that can never be filled, but because of his giving nature, each one of us is better for knowing him and the privilege to be the beneficiary of his loving spirit. I am blessed to be his brother and like many of you grateful to have been a part of his life. I hope he is eternally lounging in a tropical paradise, enjoying the sun and laughing boisterously. We love you Scott and will see you on the beach!
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hinesrinaldifuneralhome.com for the Krichbaum family.
