Passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 16, 2015 after a long and memorable life. She was surrounded by family and friends. Nathalie was born and raised in Belgium. She persevered through WWII, where she met her dear husband, Joseph D. Pattie. Nathalie came to the US after the war and since that time she has resided in the Silver Spring area. In addition to homemaker, she used her native language to benefit others and taught French in the FLES program at local elementary schools. She later became a Medical Assistant for two prominent surgeons in nearby Kensington. She was a humanitarian who touched the lives of all who crossed her path. Her kindness and generosity flowed into her volunteer participation at the Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center, as well as, the Stroke Club Montgomery Co. She also was a member of the Women’s Board of Montgomery General Hospital and volunteered at the thrift shop where proceeds went to benefit the hospital. She is survived by her children J. Richard Pattie of Spotsylvania, VA and Nanette S. Relyea of Silver Spring, MD; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives in the US and Europe. Friends may call at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904 on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 10:30am – 1pm and funeral service to follow at 1pm. Interment at Parklawn Memorial Park, 12800 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Montgomery County Stroke Club.
