On Friday, November 17, 2017, Gerald W. Johnson, Sr., of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
A lifelong educator, Gerald enjoyed a long and successful career as a teacher and administrator in the District of Columbia and Montgomery County (Maryland) Public School Systems. He was also a member and leader within local and national educational and fraternal organizations, including Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; children, Michael Johnson (Tanya), Monica Lloyd (Stephen), Leslie Cooper (Jermaine) and Danielle Smith (Eric); grandchildren, Anton, Raechel, Kloe, Ashleigh, Chase, Luke, Reagan, Jared and Ryan; sister, Shirley Garner; brother, Robert Johnson (Linda); and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Colesville Presbyterian Church, 12800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20904. Viewing at 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
