He was born on July 19, 1942 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Elmer Eugene Grant Jr. and Freda Lambert Grant.
Chuck graduated from Sikeston High School in 1960 and attended the Louisiana State University School of Banking.
He married Patsy Joan Crites on August 16, 1963 and for 59 years they never left each other's side. A banker by trade, he held positions throughout his life at Grant Oil Company, Security National Bank and First Federal Savings and Loan. He managed the local branch of A. G. Edwards and Sons and founded Grant Financial Management with his son, Bart Grant. A pillar of the community, he served on the Sikeston City Council, the Board of Trustees of Bootheel Counseling Services and the Board of Trustees of Tanner Street Church of God. His favorite pastime was going up to the Crites family farm, where he tended to his cattle and enjoyed the Bollinger County nature. Chuck will be remembered as a man who was intensely devoted to his faith, his family and his friends. He will be missed dearly by the Grant extended family and the community of Sikeston at large.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Joan Grant of Sikeston, Missouri; two sons, Elmer Eugene "Chip" Grant IV of Cape Girardeau, Missouri (with his husband John Patrick Fogarty Moore of San Francisco) and Bart Allen Grant of Sikeston, Missouri; two grandchildren, Cooper Allen Grant of Columbia, Missouri and Olivia Claire Grant of Oxford, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, Missouri with Georg Karl, pastor of Tanner Street Church of God, officiating.
