On February 14, 1982, Daniel was born in Cape Girardeau, MO to Belinda Gay Morrow (Greene) and the late Michael Lee Thompson.
Daniel was a beautiful soul, wonderful son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and most of all friend. He possessed a huge loyal heart and an exceedingly generous nature. Daniel's vibrant personality and amazing sense of humor guaranteed that he never met a stranger. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him was sure to be laughing and entertained. Daniel had a great love of music and spent many hours playing his guitar, keyboard, and listening to live shows of his favorite band, Phish, among others. He loved an adventure and had many. Daniel enjoyed nothing more than to be on the road heading to a concert, or being outdoors to hike or be on the river. Daniel cherished time with his family and dearly loved each and every one of his friends. In the words of one of his oldest and dearest friends, Nathan Beck, Daniel "played life to the beat of his own drum.", and anyone who knew him knows this to be true.
In addition to his mother, Gay, and stepfather, Steve Morrow, Daniel is survived by two sisters: Emily (Erich) Mueller of Bertrand, MO and Kristin Kelley of Essex, MO., his Aunts Debbie Thompson, and Linda Metts, Uncles Tommy Thompson, Mike Fodge, and Dub (Kris) Greene. He is also survived by two nieces: Alyssa Thompson, and Evynn Mueller; three nephews Jordan Mueller, Ethan Mueller, and Charlie Kelley. Many cousins and additional family members also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents Glenn and Betty Greene, grandparents Thomas and Martha Thompson, and his Aunt Kay Fodge.
A celebration of life for Daniel will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
