PARKER, Paul James – 76, Fort Ellis, passed away March 21, 2012 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Elmsdale, he was a son of the late Thomas and Gertrude (Horne) Parker. Paul retired from Natural Resources in 1994. He served as Corporal in the United Nations Peace Keeping Corp from 1954 until 1972. Paul was also a Commissionaire and drove taxi for awhile after retiring. Paul is survived by his wife Lottie (Harvey) Parker, daughters Betty Hirtle-Gordon, Sherry Parker Clorey “88”; sons, James Parker, Timothy Parker (Tammy MacKinnon); step son Philip Lake (Rita); stepdaughters Vivian Brightman (David), Vera Lake (Rick); grandchildren Kyle Parker (Danielle), Brooke Parker, Melissa White (Chris), Anastasia Olynych (Anthony), Tamara Olynych, Emily MacKinnon, Jeremy Lake, John Brightman, Martin MacKinnon; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sister Frances Kennedy, brothers Tom Parker and Lou Parker, granddaughter Robyn MacKinnon. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8, Saturday, March 24, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. No service by request.
