Tanya Dianne Greene Holley was born on July 11, 1943 in Minden, LA to Van Newton Greene and Freda Vae Musslewhite Greene. She entered the Lord’s rest on July 15, 2024 in Shreveport, LA after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Tanya spent most of her adult life meeting the needs of her family – staying home with her children; providing care for her aging parents; and being “Grammy” to her six grandchildren. She began each day early, looking to Christ in His word and in prayer. She loved to read, especially about God’s sovereignty and how He causes all things to work together for His glory and the good of His people. She sat faithfully under the ministry of the word and served the saints at Broadacres Baptist Church for over twenty years, until being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and entering a memory care residence in 2018. She continued to be able to recite Psalm 23 and many other portions of Scripture during weekly visits with family. The Lord comforted her and kept her by the word of His grace.
Tanya was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Winston Hodges Holley; her parents, Van Newton and Freda Musslewhite Greene; her brother, Van Michael Greene, and her son, Kevin Hodges Holley.
She is survived by her son, Kendall Van Holley and wife Shannon; her six grandchildren, Dustin Holley, Courtlyn Burgess (Adam), Mackenzie Moran (Colin), Keaton Holley (Caroline), Levi Holley, and Sheridan Holley; and her great-granddaughter, Lakelynn.
A Visitation for Tanya will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at Centuries Memorial Park. Honoring Tanya as pallbearers will be Keaton Holley, Levi Holley, Hunter Greene, Chad Brossett, Adam Burgess, and Colin Moran.
