Services to honor the life of Mr. Steve R. Coleman, 61, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Steve’s brother-in-law and friend, Dr. Greg Hill. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Wednesday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.

Steve was born on July 18, 1949, and passed away on January 23, 2011. He was a 1968 graduate of Woodlawn High School and never missed a reunion. Steve loved being with people and was a second generation owner and operator of A-Able Insurance. He was a wonderful family man who loved spending time with his children. There were many early mornings spent passing along his love of sports to his children through storytelling, teaching, and watching them at their games. He had an infectious sense of humor and always seemed to be the center of attention. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Mary Belle Coleman; and brother, Dillard Coleman, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 26 years, Glenda; son, Shane Coleman; daughters, Christy Coleman and son-in-law, Travis Jones, and Brittney Coleman; brother, Thomas Coleman and wife, Jan; and his closest nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of LSU Medical Center for all of their diligent care and compassion.
