He was born July 25, 1949, to J.T. and Mildred Smith of Shreveport. Stanley was a proud alumnus of C.E Byrd High School, went on to accomplish his undergrad as a proud LSU Tiger and then graduated in the second class ever from LSUHSC- Shreveport where he got his M.D. As he specialized in urology, Stanley dedicated his life to healing and helping the community for over 44 years as a founding member of Regional Urology. He was an avid LSU tiger fan and PGA golf fan, but by far the biggest fans of his wife and his three children. He never missed a soccer game, dance recital or graduation. His highest joy in life was to celebrate any occasion with those he loved the most.
Stanley was a Shreveport Country Club golf champion, enjoyed many years of boating, taught his kids to snow and water ski, and ultimately loved traveling with friends and family all over the world. However, his favorite thing to do was sit in “his chair” with a big smile on his face as he observed his family enjoying one another’s company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Mildred Trichel Smith, and his grandparents.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debbie Allgood Smith, his daughter Katie and husband Adam Bivins, his son Dr. Christopher Smith and wife Virginia, his daughter Jamie, two grandchildren Jack and Savannah Bivins, brother John Smith and his wife Anne, mother-in-law Eva Allgood, and numerous nephews and a niece and many dear friends.
He lived life to the fullest and left no “I love you” unsaid. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to prostate cancer research.
Honoring Stanley as pallbearers will be Ben Allgood, Mike Anderson, Adam Bivins, Steve Burkchalter, Ragan Dickens, Dr. Jim Lillich, Claude Marriman and Thomas O'Brien.
