Robert Dale Moreno Sr., went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the age of 78. He was born on February 23, 1943 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He worked for the City of Shreveport, dedicating 30 years of his life in service. After retiring, he worked for five years with the State of Louisiana.
Robert loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid gym member, where he spent most of his mornings. Robert was an amazing role model for his children and grandchildren providing a lot of wisdom. He taught them about faith, everyday life, and love. He always had time for joking around with his grandkids. He was very proud of his life that he shared with wife and the family they created. All he ever asked was for everyone to love and respect each other. He was a strong believer of the Lord and loved him with all his heart. His legacy will live on with his family and he will truly be missed but never forgotten.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rosie. Together they would have celebrated being married for 59 years on August 18. He also is survived by his children, Rose Briceno (Max), Robert Moreno Jr. (Carolyn), Pam Brown (Carey), and Stephen Moreno (Rhonda); 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 11 siblings, Delores Hinson, Linda Villarrial, David Madrigal, Joseph Madrigal, Rosemary Herzog, Mary E. Tollentino, Ramona Gonzalez, Angie Trujillo, Jessie Moreno, Mary Fatheree and Frances Clevenger; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Matilda Moreno; biological mother, Stella Mancho Madrigal; three sisters, Earlene Mancho, Lupe Madrigal and Elizabeth Moreno and two brothers, Michael Madrigal and Manuel Madrigal.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A celebration of his life will occur Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Reverend Kenny Word Fox, Pastor of Gospel Lighthouse Church in Bossier City and Bro. Raymond Sauseda will be officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be James Barber, Daniel Martinez, Cameron Moreno, Colby McLain, Collin Keith, Kaleb Keith, Josh O’Harrow and Perry Martin. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Stephen Ray Stevens.
A special thanks to his wife, family and friends for giving him the best life he could ask for. He loved all of you in his own special way.
