Peggy Clytee Sawyer Parker

Peggy was a child of God, a loving wife of 66 years, mother and grandmother. An active member of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She served on many committees, sang in the church choir and taught the Ruth Sunday School Class for many years. She was an outstanding cook as well as an excellent seamstress, having made clothes for her family and other friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Malcolm Parker; three children, Steven Parker (Yvette), Marcus Parker (Elaine) and Janet Sanson (David); grandchildren, Sheridan Parker, Kacey Sanson and Katelyn Lockling (John Mark); one sister, Rose Veasey (Harlin) and several nieces and nephews and many friends and good neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Earl Sawyer and Bert Sawyer; and two sisters, Ruth Standridge and Catherine Caldwell.

A visitation for Peggy will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. Interment in Centuries Memorial Park will conclude the service. Officiating the services will be Pastor Dr. Mike Anderson of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church and assisting him will be Dr. Dick Price.
