Sunday evening of December 17, 2023, Patricia Dianne Hollowell McGee found herself freed from earthly discomfort and lovingly held in the comforting arms of the Lord. Patsy blessed her parents Alfred "Tonkie" and Doris Hollowell with her birth on January 24, 1950.
Following her graduation from Woodlawn High School in May of 1968, she began two careers. One led to her eventual professional retirement from McGraw-Hill Dodge in 2016 as a Regional Construction Reporter. Patsy was an avid bowler from 1958 to 2017 and active in the LSBC. No account of her time with us would be complete without mentioning her philanthropy, camaraderie, and festivity in the local Mardi-Gras community by her engagement with the Krewe of Elders having served as Duchess, Queen, and most recently, co-captain for the 2024 season.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred "Tonkie" and Doris Hollowell; step daughter, Christy Roberts.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Troy McGee; brother, Randy Hollowell (Tina); sons, Russell Melton (Amy) and Casey Melton (Missy); stepdaughters, Rachel Pacheco and Mandy McGee; grandchildren, Darren Melton, Tucker Melton, Kayla Melton, Lauren Swearengin (John), Christopher Noble, Tripp Williams, and Chase Caldwell; great grandchildren, Landry Carter and Aubrey Swearengin; step son-in-law, Bobby Roberts.
A Visitation for Patsy will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Rev. John Harp officiating. Interment will be in Centuries Memorial Park. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Russell Melton, Darren Melton, Tucker Melton, Casey Melton, Bobby Roberts and John Swearengin.
