It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Pamela Southerland (Jackson), a devoted mother and beloved soul, who left this world on December 16, 2024 at the age of 61. A celebration of Pam's life will be held on December 21, 2024, at Centuries Memorial. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00, and the memorial service will be at 11:00 where friends and family are invited to share memories and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
Pam was born on December 12, 1963, to Jack and Mary Southerland. From a young age, she embraced her faith in the Lord, a guiding light that shaped her values and the way she loved others. Her relationship with God was the foundation of her life, instilling in her the strength to face challenges and the grace to extend love and compassion to those around her.
Pam devoted her life to her three daughters—Lindsay, Jessica, and Hannah. Her love for them was deep and unwavering, characterized by selflessness and sacrifice. She poured her heart and soul into raising her daughters, always putting their needs and dreams before her own. From always lending a listening ear to the countless sacrifices she made, Pam created a nurturing environment where her daughters felt cherished and supported.
Pam was often referred to as the "neighborhood mom” because she was a safe and loving refuge. She also took on the role of caretaker for many in her family. As they battled their own trials, she provided comfort and care to her loved ones. Pam's heart was open to everyone.
Her unwavering faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. She found strength and joy in prayer and scripture, often sharing her insights and encouragement with her daughters. Pam taught Lindsay, Jessica, and Hannah the importance of faith, guiding them to build their own relationships with God. Her love for the Lord shone brightly in her everyday life by serving faithfully and loving unconditionally those around her.
Pam’s faith was evident in her joyful spirit and her ability to find blessings in even the smallest moments. Because of her faith, Pam lived a life of resilience as she faced trials and suffering. She approached life with gratitude, reminding her daughters and those around her of the importance of trusting in God's plan.
Pam will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of her daughters and all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of selfless love, steadfast faith, and care for others will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Pam is survived by her three beloved daughters, Lindsay Stone Heard, husband Richard of Dubach, LA; Jessica Stone Hill, husband Mark of Shreveport, LA; and Hannah Jackson Edwards, husband Kaleb of Blackwell, TX. She will be remembered by her ten cherished grandchildren: Caroline, Savannah, and John Todd Heard; Amari, Avery, Aliyah, and Annalise Hill; and Lane, Hallie, and Hayden Edwards. Pam is survived by two bonus daughters, Lindsey Roe and Laura Ferrell. She is survived by her siblings, Kathy Ramsey and Gary Prothro and many nieces and nephews. Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary Southerland, her sister Jan Prothro, and her brother Jack Southerland, Jr. Also, waiting in Heaven for her are her beloved nephew, Christopher Mallicote, and sister in law, Frances Prothro. Pam’s family will carry forward her legacy of sacrificial love and unwavering faith.
