Michael Dale Massey, age 60, of Stonewall, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022. Michael was born August 6, 1962 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Michael worked for many years as a lead man welder for Module X Solutions. He loved to ride his motorcycle. Through the years he and his wife Lannie took many road trips together on his bike. Michael had a great love for music and the outdoors where you could find him fishing or grilling in the backyard for family and friends. He had a love for hot rods and old cars. You could always find Mike spending time in his workshop fixing things, and building just about anything. His neighbors and friends were very important to him. He was known as a kind man and good friend. Most of all he loved his family especially his grandbaby "Sugar Bear." He was the best husband, father and PawPaw! He will be greatly missed by those who knew him best and loved him most.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff "Pop" Massey and Shirley "Maw" Massey; maternal mother, Joyce McCaa; step-father Bill McCaa; brother, Steve Tatum and father-in-law Johnny Ware.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Lannie Massey; son Jeff "J.D." Massey; son-in-law, Justin Gieger; daughter, Beth "Toot Toot" Massey; Granddaughter, Maddi "Sugar Bear" Massey; brother, Buddy McCaa and his wife Teresa; mother-in-law, Bettie "Granmaw" Ware; brother-in-laws, John Ware and Michael "Binka" Ware. Michael is also survived by a host of Nieces and Nephews.
A visitation for Michael will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM with Joey Presley and Rev. Joey Ketchum officiating. Interment will be in Centuries Memorial Park. Honoring him as active pallbearers will be Steve Evans, Roy Stump, Bill Mathews, Mack Bradberry, Randy Presley and Roy "Spanky" Brammer. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Hester and Justin Gieger.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and staffs at Nightingale Hospice, Willis Knighton Cancer Center, Willis Knighton North, Baylor University in Dallas, Texas, Feist Weiller Cancer Center and Ochsner Health. The family would also like to thank their beloved neighbors, friends, and family that supported them through this journey.
