Mrs. Lural Carver Slay Dodson

Shreveport, LA-Funeral services celebrating the life of Lural Carver Slay Dodson,86,will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Lawrence Martin. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Lural passed into her heavenly fathers arms on November 5, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 18, 1928 to Marshall Rite Carver and Frances Juliann Carver.

Mrs. Dodson was a resident of Shreveport, LA since 1961 and was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church.

Lural was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Alfred A. Slay, Sr.; one son, Dennis (Bo) Boyett, along with 6 sisters and 5 brothers.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Mrs. Dodson is her husband, Lewis E. Dodson; brother, Cullen R. Carver; children, Judy Ewoldsen and husband Jim, Linda Smoak and husband Chip, Grace Owens and husband Mike, Alfred Slay, Jr. and wife Tammy; daughter in law, Sheila Boyett; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Guest House on Normandie Drive for all the love and special care shown to Lural. The family also wishes to thank special friend Rosie Roberson whom she loved.
