Loren’s life was defined by his service, his love for family, and his passions. He served in the Army National Guard from 1970 to 1976, and later became an Oil and Gas Certified Public Accountant. Loren was deeply committed to his children and grandchildren, often spoiling them with unforgettable trips, including to Broken Bow for "Dad’s Christmas," Disney World, and Branson. He loved fishing and golf, tracking every detail of both hobbies with enthusiasm. Loren was also a music lover and often introduced his children to new artists and songs.
Loren also enjoyed his involvement in his church, where he played an active role in driving church members on mission trips, including to the Voice of the Martyrs in Bartlesville. He cherished every moment spent with his companion, Mollye Brown, and was known as a loyal and caring friend to all who knew him well.
Loren is survived by his children, Renee S. Smith, Alicia Gorman (Tom), Chad Smith (Carisa); his companion, Mollye Brown; his nephew, Troy Livingston; and his grandchildren, Jacob Gorman, Kelsie Gorman, Ella Smith, Harison Smith, and Crosley Smith; his sister, Sharen Livingston (Jerry); his brother-in-law, Mike Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Suzan R. Smith; his parents, Kenneth Hugh Smith and Eva Marie Smith; and his nephew, Todd Livingston.
A visitation for Loren will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. A celebration of life graveside service will follow at 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Park.
Loren will be laid to rest at Centuries Memorial Park, Prayer Garden Lot: 363, Grave: 4.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Gorman, Kelsie Gorman, Ella Smith, Harison Smith, and Crosley Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Loren’s memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association Louisiana Chapter, 831 Kings Hwy #120, Shreveport, Louisiana 71104, or to the Voice of the Martyrs, 1815 SE Bison, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006.
