Services to honor the life of Mr. Linale Duane Blake, 79, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Joe Bob Alexander. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Duane was born in Castor, LA on May 29, 1940, to parents Milton and Pearlie May Blake, and passed away at his home on Saturday, October 5, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Duane worked as a crane operator at Beard Industries and had retired back in the 70’s. He was the kindest man you would ever want to meet; giving, helpful, and highly patriotic. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. But more than anything else, he loved the Lord and his family. He accepted Christ and was baptized in Castor, LA at Ebenezer Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed!
Mr. Blake is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Glynn Pat Blake; his son, Greggory Duane Blake; brothers, Joe Weaver Blake, Donald Rush Blake, Mack Stanley Blake and Thomas Howell Blake; sisters, Tommy Jean Gamble and Patsy Dean Slayton; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Walsh Blake; son, Gary Linale Blake and wife Barbara; brothers, Johnny Ray Blake and wife Gloria, and Bennett Blake; grandson, Roy Duane Blake; four great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own.
Pallbearers are Wayne Walsh, David Walsh, John Maynor, Mike Malmay, Barry Gamble, and Roy Duane Blake.
