Corbett was born to Lee and Evelyn Berthelot on March 6, 1948 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1966 before attending Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. That is where he met the love of his life, Miriam. Together they started their ministry of preaching the gospel all across this beautiful country. Corbett became a pastor after 7 1/2 years. He served in Springhill, New Orleans, Shreveport and Blanchard, Louisiana for over 45 years.
Corbett and Miriam were married May 31, 1969 in Wilmington, Delaware. They are proud parents to Evelyn Joy Hearron and adopted children Sheron McGill and Shawn McGill. With 6 grandchildren Michael Boykin (Kayleigh), Jasmine Rogers (Nathan), Caitlyn Glassford (Dillon), Curtis Thompson, Christian Rabalais (Kendall) and Zoe Hearron with 6 great grandchildren Emily, Madilyn, Logan, Levi, Sophia and Charlotte. One brother in law, Ron West who became a dear friend as well. Niece Sharon Radabaugh (Brett), and nephew Michael West (Betty) and James West.
Corbett is proceeded in death by his beloved parents Lee and Evelyn Berthelot, grandson Logan Hinkie, stepmother, Doris Berthelot, in laws John and Verla Hutchison, son in law, Patrick Hearron and sister, Margaret West.
Through the years, Corbett enjoyed baseball, fishing, bowling and mission trips but most importantly spending time with his family. Preaching the Word of God and seeing lives changed was also his heart. Corbett touched thousands of people along his life journey and considered them all friends. His passion for God was embedded in his soul.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Ron West, Marilyn and Jasmine at Garden Park Nursing Home, Jennifer (RN) at Carpenter House and the countless others on his medical team. Jexie White for being such a good friend to our beloved Corbett, Special friends Cindy Roth and Lisa Henson Walker who loved him like a father and the countless friends that he had visiting. Jeff and Michelle Luquet for not only their friendship but endless frappes that were given in secret. Gary Cavalier for being his Pastor and friend for so many years and Jerry and Patsy Steele for the countless times you have prayed and visited.

A Visitation will be held for Corbett on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71108. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, December 27,2024 at 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Chapel. Corbett will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park, Fellowship, Lot: 16, Grave: 4.
