Keith Nale was born on August 16th, 1960 in Shreveport, La. Keith was raised by his loving mother and father Bobby and Jarilyn Nale. Growing up Keith had a passion for swimming. He swam competitively for the city of Shreveport and went on to attend SAU where he competed on the collegiate swim team. SAU is where Keith met his beloved wife Dana. Keith and Dana went on to have two boys, Wesley and Austin.
Keith served 30 years for the Shreveport Fire Dept. and retired as a captain from Truck-20 A shift on December 31st, 2014. Keith competed on 2 seasons of Survivor, the first season was with his son, Wesley. Keith quickly became a fan favorite and was voted back in by his fans to compete in another season. Keith made a true impact on so many people around the world. Keith had a gentle temperament, a one of a kind sense of humor and personality. Anybody who met Keith always left as a friend. Keith loved spending time with Wesley and Austin, whether it was in the deer woods at the Nale Hunting Club in Truxno, LA or the open plains of Canada hunting ducks. He also enjoyed spending sun up to sundown relaxed on the beach during their family vacations. Keith is a beloved member of an LSU tailgate group where he rarely missed a Saturday night in Death Valley and was known for his LSU helmet. Keith quickly adapted to the grandpa role when the "wild one," Calder Nale, made his appearance. Keith loved his time with Calder and taught him all about LSU football.
Keith passed away at his home in Keithville, LA on April 18th, 2023 surrounded by his wife and children. Keith will be missed dearly by everybody who has ever met him. Keith's legacy will live on through his wife, children and close friends.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Dana Nale: son Wesley Nale and wife Grayson; son Austin Nale and girlfriend Sarah Bulkley; Grandson Calder Nale; Father Bobby Nale; Brother Kevin Nale and wife Theresa; his mother and father-in-law Sue and Rodney Herring; brother-in-law Brad Herring and wife Staci, James Babin and wife Kelly and Joshua Herring; as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and his cousins; his brothers at the Shreveport Fire Department; His Survivor castmates and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Jarilyn Nale; grandparents Jay Hill, Lessie Hill, Sadie Lucero Hill and Abner and Clara Nale.
Pallbearers will be Joel May, John David May, Karl Mann, Paul Ray Stephenson, Brad Hamilton and Murphy Foster, Brad Herring and Trey Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Shreveport Fire Department and his LSU Tailgating Group.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Give Kids the World, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.

A visitation for Keith will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Grawood Baptist Church, 5841 Colquitt Rd, Keithville, LA.
Keith will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, LA 71108-5813.
