Joseph A. Walden Jr.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Joseph (Joe) A. Walden, Jr., will be held at Hill Crest Blanchard Chapel, 356 Warriner Ave., Blanchard, LA, on June 4, 2024 at 2 pm with Pastor Steve Harris officiating. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service at 1 pm.

Joe was born October 17, 1944 at Barksdale Field in Shreveport, LA to Cornelia and Joseph A. Walden, Sr. Joe graduated from high school in Ankara, Turkey, and attended Texas A&M. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served two rotations in Vietnam. He retired from Sam's Town Casino as a surveillance supervisor. His favorite pastime was music and playing his guitar. He had a band in high school and played in various bands throughout the years. He loved all animals, in particular his cats, Socks and Pockets.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne; sister, Mary Ann Henderson; daughter, Shelli Harris and husband Steve; granddaughters, Naomi Matheson and husband Reagan, Lily Harris and Bella Harris; great granddaughter, Olive; and stepchildren, Robert Aylor and Patricia Davis.

The family would like to thank the medical staff of Overton Brooks VA Medical Center for the excellent care he received since 1975.
