Celebration of Life services for Mr. John William Jones, 78, will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011, in Centuries Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jerry Gill officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, June 18, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at Centuries.

Mr. John W. Jones was born May 17, 1933, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Abner Crosby and Ida Lee Carlisle Jones and was called to his Heavenly home June 14, 2011, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He served this grateful nation by enlisting in the U.S. Army as part of the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired from Bell South after 35 years of dedicated employment. John Jones loved his family, but he LOVED “His Girls” always reminding them “The Good Lord is in Charge”.

Left to cherish his memory, and tell his stories, will be his four daughters; Tanya Jones Allen and husband Lynn, Glenda Jones Allen and husband Chris, Devora Jones Wilburn and husband Michael, and Deanna Jones Norman and husband Chip, three sisters; Virginia Jones Walker, Estelle Jones Post, and Martha Jones Holeyfield, five grandchildren; Aubrey Allen Cohorst and husband Lance, Adam Allen and wife Layne, John “J.C.” Allen, Graham Rachal and wife Anna, and Brittany Norman, three great-grandchildren; Ainsley Ross, Bryce Allen, and Avery Allen; his very special friend Jane Dominique; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to Tracy and Linda for the loving care of their “Daddy” during his recent illness.

Honoring Mr. Jones as pallbearers will be Lynn Allen, Chris Allen, Michael Wilburn, Chip Norman, Adam Allen, John “J.C.” Allen, Graham Rachal, and Lance Cohorst.
