I hadn't seen your dad in years but remember him as fun loving and smart. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was unaware of Johns Passing until now. I worked for John at UGC in 1967. After I left we remained friends. He helped me with many projects. Even though we didn't see much of each other, after I moved to Texas, I will miss him. He was always there to answer any question.

 He was a great guy that was willing to help anyone that needed something.I have known John for over 20 years.He will finally be reunited with june. my prays and thought go out to his beautiful family.I thank God for having known him you will be missed!

I first met John in Nov. 1964 when I came to work at UGC Instruments.  Later I worked for John in the Engineering Dept after we became UGC Industries.  John was a great friend and mentor to not only me, but many others as well.  He allowed me to go from being a draftsman to mechanical designer.  John was one of the most brilliant people that I have ever known.    Johnny Thomas

I remember all the times that John graciously helped me repair various vehicles. John was a great friend and a workout partner along with Earl Martin and Joe Davis for over 30 years.   He will be sorely missed.

My prayer is that the LORD JESUS CHRIST will comfort Mr. John's family with His Holy Spirit, with His Word, with His family of believers, & with the many friends that Mr. John & his family have made through the years.  Mr. John was a man of many accomplishments, a veteran, and a hard worker who provided for his family.  We honor his memory and we thank God for sharing him with us.

The Final Salute

Brothers in Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another. 

This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to John Richard Davis our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for John. And to John it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during WW-II while serving in the U.S. Army. John, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

Work with John at Frymaster on the Automated Fryer. Never forget the installation in Chicago in the snow. I appreciate his directness in expressing his feelings. Prayers are with the family.

Papa John took me under his wing in 1971 at 11 years old training me with weights at a local gym. Several years later, a family moved next door to my parents. When I came home from school, I found it was Papa John and Mama June. John became my second father, continuing to train me in knowledge and life. We had many winter projects together throughout the years, the summers were committed to the lake. Papa John was an extraordinary man, helping others without question. I would not be the man I am today without knowing him and having him and Mama June in my Life. Thank you for all you have done for me, my family, and everyone you have touched. The world is a lesser place and  I hope you have found your peace.

John was a good man.  I was truly honored to call him "friend".  I will miss all the weekends in my shop tinkering with radios. You will be truly missed.  May God welcome you with open arms.

So very sorry for you loss. I worked with John at Frymaster and he was such a great guy,! May God bless and be your comfort.

Thank you for all the good times you gave us as kids growing up.  You were like a second Dad for my brother and me.  Thank you for all the times you bailed Momma and Daddy out of trouble with the house or car.  You are going to missed Papa John.  You and Momma June were the best neighbors.

I started working with John in 1998 and have been great friends ever since then.  He was a great guy that was willing to help anyone that needed something fixed.  I will miss him and his old school since of humor.

I worked with John for over 20 years, I really enjoyed his great personality.  John was a wonderful man!!
