Jo Anne White Womack
December 9, 1930 – March 25, 2025
Jo Anne was born on December 9, 1930, in Bossier Parish, Louisiana to Harry B. and Frances H. White and passed away on March 26, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Bossier High School and went to business school to become a bookkeeper.
Jo Anne married the love of her life, Robert L. Womack, in 1952. Robert was killed on October 11, 1965, serving in the Vietnam War. Jo Anne went on to raise their three children on her own.
Jo Anne enjoyed her church, family, and friends as well as cooking, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, woodworking, working crossword puzzles, card games, jigsaw puzzles, and reading. She enjoyed camping and the outdoors. If there was something she wanted to do, but didn’t know how to do it, she would research it and teach herself how to do it.
Her greatest joys in life were sharing about Jesus with her family and the children she taught in GAs and Sunday School. She desired to see everyone come to know the Lord as their personal savior. She loved to travel, and that is one of the reasons she loved teaching GAs. Learning about all the missionaries and where they lived gave her that desire to travel.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Womack, parents, Harry and Frances White; her in-laws, Walter H. (Corinne and Myrtle) Womack; and all four of her siblings, Frances Hargus, Henry White, Harry White, and John White, and her granddaughter, Sarah L. Coleman.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Herbert B. (Loretta) Womack, David J. (Deborah) Womack, and Rebecca W. Singletary.
Sixteen grandchildren: Dwayne Roberson, Chris Roberson, April (Frank) Singleton, Brandy (Shane) Cordova, Robert Womack, Stacy Womack, Lee Anne Womack, Sarah (Tim) Shapley, Lydia (Guy) Clouse.
Nineteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Her sisters-in-law, Pam White and Sharon White. Several nieces and nephews as well as close friends that she held dear.

To the staff at Garden Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center…thank you for the love and care you gave our mom all these years never went unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.
To all of Herbert’s, David’s, and Becky’s friends and church families…thank you from the bottom of our hearts! The calls, cards, texts, prayers, tears, and laughter saw us through the good and the bad days.
Our prayer is that God will continue to bless and keep each one of you. We will continue Mom’s prayer that all her family and friends come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. We pick up the baton, Mom; we will continue the race until we are all reunited again. We love you…

Hebrews 12:1-3 ESV
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.
A private family graveside service for JoAnne will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in JoAnne's memory may be made to Summer Grove Baptist Church.
