I'm sorry to hear about brother Cagle. I just a few weeks ago learned of his passing. I was a member of the Gurnsey church when he preached there. I also was a student of his in speech class at the college. He done many things to help my family. He was a great man. I wish I'd known of his passing. I would have been there. I know he has his wing's and in heaven.

Papaw. Just thinking about you. I miss you. Seeing your picture after 4 years of you being gone is hard. I know I'll see you again as I make my journey to the pearly gates. I know you will be there guiding me in the dark. If it wasn't for you taking care of me I would be lost as a man. You tought me everything I know about love.  I love you papaw. I love you. I love you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

 Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
 Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
 That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
 God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

 It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

 God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not  be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Gene and I were high school classmates and buddies at Saint John's in Shreveport.  Following graduation, we went our separate ways and never saw each other again.  For me, that is a tragedy.  We did communicate over the past few years after I was able to locate him through the high school alumni.  We were to meet on my visits to Shreveport, but we never could get together.  He was one of my favorites and one of THE  favorites at high school.  I will miss Gene and will always remember him.  I would appreciate it if one or all of his children would contact me.  God bless all of you.

A true role model for others to emulate. He could play the guitar with the best and was always in the process of continual learning. May each of you tap into the fond memories of a loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather.The angels are now rejoicing and God has received him into His

Brother Gene was such a gifted and talented person. I was privileged to have him as my Pastor at South Texarkana Baptist Church.He was full of love.

A better world it would be, if more people were more like Gene Cagle. Worked with him at Texarkana Transit, years ago.

It was an honor to have been a student in Mr. Cagle's class at Texarkana College and to later work with him at UACCH. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word. Prayers to his family and friends.

Gene,  you were a beacon of light and love to so many especially me.  When we were growing up, you let me hang around you and your friends.  I always admired you so much.  I'll always remember our times together singing.  And I will hold you in my heart as I think about our many phone calls over the past few years.  You and Charles and Mother please sing to me from Heaven and I will hear you.  Loving you forever. I am always your little sister, Fay

Will be remembered expecially for his love for Jesus Christ, outgoing personally, and never ending love for his family. And Carol and I will always remember those wonderful home made biscuit he fixed one Sundy morning while we were visiting there home in Bowling Green Ky.

Papaw....where do I begin....? First I can't believe you're gone. I thought u would be here forever. You have been my rock and inspiration just like my daddy....for my whole life. You taught me so much. I know you would want me to celebrate your life and not mourn your loss but it is so hard bc I miss u.
