Fred T. Lewis

Funeral services for Fred T. Lewis, 92, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Shreveport Community Church, with pastor Denny Duron officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Lewis was born July 3, 1920 in Marthaville, LA; and entered into rest December 28, 2012 in Shreveport. He was retired from Reiley Beard after thirty years of service, a member of Shreveport Community Church for fifty-eight years, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday School Teacher.

He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Larry Averitt; brother, Walter Lewis, and sister, Alice Davis.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Dahlia Lewis; daughters, Anna Jean Stroope and husband Ron; Vicki Averitt; two sisters, Audie Hayes and Ora Green; grandchildren, Shawn Stroope and wife Sarah, Chris Stroope and wife Brandi, Alicia Burns and husband Ragan, and Brad Averitt; great grandchildren, Peyton Stroope, Caitlyn Stroope, Parker Stroope, and August Burns.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Stroope, Chris Stroope, Ragan Burns, James Randolph, Steve Green, and Wayne Lewis

Honorary pallbearer will be Peyton Stroope.
