Evelyn lived many of her years in Pennsylvania, growing up in Leetsdale, and then living in Sewickley. As an infant, she was baptized in the First United Presbyterian Church of Leetsdale, where she was nurtured in the Christian faith, and where she participated in the Ladies Aid. Social affiliations included the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as a Worthy Matron.
Most of her adult life, Evelyn lived in Shreveport. She was a faithful member of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, serving in the Presbyterian Women organization and as a “flower lady” delivering bouquets to the homebound and hospitalized. Evelyn worked for decades for First National/Premier/Chase Bank, from where she retired as head teller.
Evelyn entertained family and friends alike with her humor and charm. She was a woman of integrity and dignity, faithful to her word and to those who knew her. Kind, compassionate, trustworthy, grace-filled, Evelyn inspired the best in others.
We cherish Mom/Gran Gran/Triple G! Purple violets, purple pansies, lily of the valley will always reflect her tenderness and strength.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
