Funeral services for Donald Devodry Wilson, 75, of Shreveport will be held on Friday of May 6, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. under the direction of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport. Officiating will be Bro. John Harp and Bro. David Rice and burial will follow at Centuries Memorial. Visitation will be at Brookwood Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on the 6th of May, 2022.
Mr. Wilson was born February 16, 1947 in Hayti, Missouri and passed away on April 30th, 2022. Don spent most of his life in the insurance business at United Insurance Company of America as well as Allstate. Don also served as a Pastor for Mission Point as well as North Keithville Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Wilson and Pearl Quertermous and sisters, Marie Bowman, Joy Moore, Betty Walker and Brenda Kay Golden, and brother, Woodrow Wilson.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years Brenda Giglio Wilson of Shreveport, son and daughter-in-law John and Debbie Wilson of Springtown, Texas, Daughter Tanya Cubelo and fiancé Trevor McLaughlin of Algonquin, Illinois, and son and daughter-in-law Chad and Sandy Wilson of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandchildren Zach and Alex Wilson, Jordan and Kailey Cubelo, and Braydon and Abbi Wilson; great grandchildren Tucker, Asher, Thomas, and Lily; sisters Lois Lester of Burns, Tennessee, Christine Ledbetter of Caruthersville, Missouri, Billie Jean Brewer and husband Robert of Dickson, Tennessee, Judy Watson and husband Tommy of Troy, Illinois, and brother Jim Wilson and wife Sandra of Bastrop, Louisiana.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Wilson, Alex Wilson, Braydon Wilson, Greg Wilson, Ron Johnson, and Trevor McLaughlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Brookwood Baptist Church Shreveport, Louisiana.
Don’s family would like to thank Christus Highland CCU doctors, nurses and Chaplins for taking such good care of him during his stay. A special thanks to Dr. Jimmy Smith for being such a caring doctor and friend.
