A visitation for Dewitt will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A celebration of life at graveside will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108.
Dewitt Clinton Cooper Sr., was born in Eldorado, Oklahoma to the late Alec and Lillie Spencer Cooper. He proudly served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force during WWII. He worked for many years printing newspapers for the Shreveport Times before retiring. Dewitt enjoyed hunting, fishing and metal detecting. He truly will be missed by all those who loved him. He passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the age of 96.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dewitt Cooper Jr. and Diane Cooper Sharp; grandchild, Briana Sharp; great grandchildren, Drayden, Corbyn, and Kensley, and sister, Wanda Ryan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Cooper.
