Jared Gardner will be officiating the services. She will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park following her celebration of life.
Candice was born January 18, 1971 in Minden, Louisiana to Curtis Sibley and Bonnie Newsom. She attended grade school in Cotton Valley and graduated from Minden High. She was a faithful member of serving God at Oil City UPC. She loved her pastors, T.W. Barnes, James Kent Rhoads and many other ministers, who spread the word. She lived for her family. Candice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved taking trips with her children, fishing trips with her husband and in-laws, and listening to her (favorite) son preach. Her passion in life was going to her family reunions. She enjoyed shopping in secret, attending garage sales, caring for her plants, and ordering her iced white chocolate mocha with no whip.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 28 years, Kenneth Gardner of Shreveport, children: Hailey Willoughby of Bossier City, Matthew Hortman of Bossier City, Brianna Gardner of Murfreesboro, TN, Jared and Carina Gardner of Bossier City. Grandchildren: Kadynce Willoughby, Kenlynn Willoughby, and McKenzie Hortman. Her parents: Curtis Sibley of Cotton Valley, Bonnie Newsom Langwasser and husband Robert of Ringgold. Her parents-in-law: Gerald and Robbie Gardner of Texarkana, TX. Siblings: Sonny Sibley of Cotton Valley, Juliette Sibley of Cotton Valley, and “Self-Claimed” sister, Dee Dee Gurgainers of Sibley, LA as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and her favorite cousin, Michael Daniel of Mississippi.
Candice was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Mary Gardner, and her grandparents, Roy and Bessie Martin Buntin, Thomas and Pauline Newsom, Captola McDougall and Marion Brown.
Honoring the life of Candice as pallbearers will be brother, Sonny Sibley, Michael Daniel, Phillip Gurgainers, Kevin Dryden, Steven Terry, Curtis Durmon and Jake Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be her sons, Matthew and Jared, grandsons, Kadynce and Kenlynn, nephews, Tristan, Devan and Gage.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Scott Boniol (Dr. B) and the entire staff of the cancer center and emergency room staff of Christus Highland Hospital in Shreveport.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oil City UPC in Candice's memory for Mother's Memorial and Move the Mission.
