Service for Bobby Lee Fox, 86, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2022, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA, officiated by his niece, Pastor Lamarla Cook. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
Bobby was born on January 26, 1936 in Page, Oklahoma and passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in Dallas, Texas. After high school he attended Draughns Business College in Oklahoma City. Upon graduation, he moved to California for a short time before moving back to Heavener, Oklahoma, to care for his mother and sister after the passing of his father. He went to work for Kansas City Southern Railroad where he retired after 40 years.
He met his wife Marilyn, of 52 years, in the church choir and they were married on December 10, 1959 in Oswego, Kansas. Bobby’s work took them to Shreveport, Louisiana. They both enjoyed singing in the Shreveport Community Church Choir and participating in “Songs of the Season”.
Bobby loved music. He played the piano, sang in the church choir and enjoyed listening to all types of music. Bobby took up knitting after his retirement and proved to be very skilled at this craft. In 2021, Bobby moved to Dallas to live with his sister, Barbara, who devotedly took care of him until his passing.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Elery Robert and Tecie Hazel (Scott) Fox; wife, Marilyn (Preddy) Fox; infant son, James Edward Fox; brothers Bill Fox and Derrell Fox. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Glover of Dallas, Texas and brother, Harold Fox of Knoxville, Arkansas.
