Bill Steven Rich was born August 25th, 1946, to Garland and Daisy Rich of LaTex (now Panola, Texas). He passed away August 27, 2023. He attended Bethany Elementary, Waskom Jr. High and High school. Bill served 3 ½ years in the US Army. He was stationed for 18 months in Vietnam. Bill was a truck mechanic during the time he served. After his discharge from the army, he attended Panola College. Bill was an ironworker and welder by trade. Whenever Bill traveled he was always taking pictures.
As a younger man, Bill enjoyed cutting horses and rodeos. His latest passion was antique tractors. Bill had a soft spot in his heart for all animals. He loved his dog Shadow.
Bill enjoyed his annual trips to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in Amarillo, Texas, where he was an avid supporter of this organization.
Bill is survived by two sons, Brady and his wife Amanda. Jason and his wife Krystle. Three grandsons, Colby Blyth and wife Emily, Chandler Rich and Logan Rich. Sister, Carol Mechelle and brothers, Buddy Rich and wife Norma, Clifford Rich and wife Teresa and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends and many beloved cousins.
A graveside for Bill will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Centennial Cemetery, 123 FM, De Berry, TX. Immediately following the the graveside service, there will be a covered dish luncheon under the pavilion.
