Services celebrating the life of Barbara Kay Ayers, 66, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor James McMenis of Word of God Ministries. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Barbara was born on January 22, 1945 in Shreveport, LA to Earl Godfrey Bonds, Sr. and Marie Williams Bonds and passed away on December 22, 2011. Mrs. Ayers graduated from Fair Park High School and attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA., Centenary College and LSUS in Shreveport and BPCC in Bossier City. She worked in customer service at Arkla Gas Company for 34 years until her retirement in 1998.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Barbara is her daughter, Tonya Ayers Scott; brothers, Robert Lane Bonds, Sr. (Ann), Earl Godfrey Bonds, Jr. (Yvonne) and Roland Wade Bonds (Cathy). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Barbara Ayers would like to extend their thanks to the neighbors and friends who were so kind to Barbara during her illness and also to the medical staffs of Willis Knighton Hospital, Life Care Hospital and the Guest House. Special thanks to Dr.’s “V,” White and Feagin, who took such good care of her during her illness.
Honoring Mrs. Ayers as pallbearers will be Clyde Comer, David Newman, Keith Kingston and Harry Malone. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Hudson, Ed Denmon, Claude Beasley, Dennis Shafter and Buddy Hatcher.
