Marvin was born January 14, 1945 in Florence, WI to Neuman B. and Elouise Claire (Blome) Parker. He attended Tipler Grade School and Florence High School.
On June 29, 1968 Marvin was united in marriage to Karen Marie Zellmer at Tipler Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2008.
For thirty-eight years Marvin was employed at Kohler Co., retiring in 2008 as a material handler in the enamel shop.
Marvin was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and married Donna Lampe there on September 24. 2009. He was also a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club.
While he loved biking, he also liked to go fishing, walking and he also enjoyed working out. Over the years he enjoyed biking for the American Heart Foundation. In the past he enjoyed annual bike trips up to his hometown, Tipler, WI., which was more than four hundred miles round trip. The trip was made on a bike he made himself.
In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Karsten of Plymouth; his son, Fred (Dena) Parker of Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Samantha, Nicole, Rachel; his brothers, James (Sherry) Parker of Sheboygan and Bill (Marilyn) Parker of Florence, WI; his step-children, Jenny (Don) Schmidt, Joan (Charles) Geier, and Josh (Toni) Lampe all of Sheboygan; his step-grandchildren, Camron, Hanna, Coda, Samuel, Matthew, Joel, Joseph, Josylynn, Gwendolyn, and Mackenzie; his “grand-dogs”, Suzy and Angie; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Karen; his brothers, Doug and Melvin; and his sister, Maxine.
A memorial service in celebration of Marvin’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Pastor Jon Nienhuis of River Rock Community Church, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial will take place on the family plot at Long Lake Cemetery in Long Lake, WI.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for the American Heart Association, 660 E. Mason St., Milwaukee, WI., 53202.
Although Marvin will be deeply missed, his family is comforted in knowing that he died doing something he loved and on his terms.
