Mary Elizabeth Malone

Beth was born on July 16, 1948 to Russell D and Mabel Wilson in Lawton, Oklahoma. She grew up in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma where she graduated from High School in 1966. She attended and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma with a double major in Education and Music and received her Bachelors of Arts degree, Cum Laude. Beth later attended East Texas State University (now Texas A&M Commerce) and earned her Master of Education degree.

In October of 1966 Beth met Gary Malone and started a loving relationship that was to last her lifetime. They married on November 28, 1969 and were blessed with a son, Michael, in July of 1971.

Beth taught elementary school in Shawnee, Oklahoma and in Texas cities of Terrell, El Campo, Victoria and Corpus Christi and was loved dearly by her students. She loved her students and always searched for ways to teach each individual to achieve their best. She also taught basic English skills at Trinity Valley Community College in Terrell, Texas for students returning to school to further their education. Her passion for teaching carried her through 40 years of sharing and caring for her students.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Mabel Wilson, brother, Mike Wilson and wife Gayl and sister in law Carolyn Wilson.

Beth is survived by her husband Gary, son Michael and wife Brittany, granddaughters Mackenzie and Brooklyn and her older brother Russell Wilson and brother's in law, sister in laws and many nieces and nephews.

Beth enjoyed plants and flowers and her patios were always places of beauty. She also enjoyed tennis, golf and traveling. Her favorite thing to do in the later years was to sit around the fire pit at “the ranch", watch sunsets and sip great wine!!

Loving wife, mother, Grammy and friend, she's loved by all and we know we'll see her again!!

A visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801.
