Willie Long, Sr.

Mr. Long was born June 6, 1943 in Brunswick County, son of the late Eldridge Victor Long and Evia Caroline McKeithan Long. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He worked as a farmer for 52 years growing tobacco, soybeans, and corn. Spending time with his family and friends was his favorite pastime. He also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Frances Long.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Patricia Tripp Long of the home; children, Willie Hayes Long, Jr. and wife Kathy of Ash, Teresa Pecker and husband Mark of Ash, Matthew Long and fiancé Elaine Hawkins of Ash; sister, Clara Duncan and husband Tom of Nakina; five grandchildren, Mallory Pearce and husband Wesley, Haylie Long, Joshua Long and wife Morgan, Sean Pecker and wife Claire, and McKenzie Long; three great grandchildren, Easton and Evie Pearce and Ryan Long; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Long Cemetery in Ash, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina.
