Patricia McCartney

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia “Suzie” A. McCartney of Ocean Isle Beach, NC on October 6, 2024, at the age of 85. Patricia was born on September 5, 1939 in Uniontown, PA., to Joseph & Anna Zitney.

Patricia met the love of her life and beloved husband, Walter T. McCartney Jr. of 56 years. In her younger years, she was a devout aerobics student, progressing to instructor. Her adventurous spirit led her to receiving her pilot’s license, as well. In her later years, she started yoga. In her mid-years, her determination led her to go back to college and graduate with an accounting degree which she used for the many small businesses in Uniontown, PA. Patricia then went on to serve Fayette county as a social worker, helping many families and young children. She will be missed by all for her love, laughter, and friendship.

Preceded in death: Mother & Father, Joseph & Anna , Brother, Frank Zitney, Son, Gerald A. Cramer, and her husband, Walter “Mac”.

Survived by: Daughter, Beth Glidden & husband, Frank of Palm Coast, FL, daughter, Vickie Sears & husband George Dick of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, son, Walter “Scott” McCartney, Punta Gorda, FL, and brother, Joseph Zitney & wife, Janis of Durham, NC. She had 5 grandsons & 2 granddaughters and several great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 for the disaster relief in NC.
