Jimmie Dean Smith Everett, 87, born September 10, 1925 in Dothan, AL, passed away peacefully in Sequim, WA, January 2, 2013. Jimmie grew up in Hartford, AL and married Leonard (Eddie) Everett, May 12, 1951, After Eddie received his Air Force orders for Okinawa, Japan he moved the family to Bellingham, WA. Later Jimmie traveled with her two children Charlotte and Buddy by ship out of San Francisco, CA and spent two years on Okinawa, where their daughter Cheryl was born. When the war was over the family moved back to Bellingham, WA and then Seattle, WA where Eddie was hired by Boeing and he and Jimmie grew their family. In her early years Jimmie loved gardening, sewing and cooking for her family and collecting cookbooks. Jimmie was preceded in death by she and Eddies baby Michael Edwin Everett, father Julian Smith, mother Opal Smith and brother Bill Smith. Jimmie is survived by her loving husband Leonard “Eddie” Everett, and children; Charlotte (David) Scott, Cle Elum, WA, Charles “Buddy” Miller, Sequim, WA, Cheryl (Pat) Flohe, Port Angeles, WA, Janice (Mike) Gross, West Linn, OR, Evelyn (Ed) Minalia, Enterprise, OR and John (Teresa) Everett, Marysville, WA and Jimmies Sisters; Catherine Gilmore and Evelyn Smith, both of Hartford, AL. Jimmie had fifteen Grandchildren and ten Great Grandchildren. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date. Jimmie was a devoted wife and mother; we will miss her immensely.
