Vincent was born in Manhattan, New York, to Marie Eleanor and Ambrose Benton Winn. After World War II, his family relocated to Fayette,Missouri, where his paternal grandparents lived. He attended military school, ultimately joining the U.S. Navy in 1963. In 1973, he married Sandra Waters. Vincent was a Vietnam Veteran, and in 1984 retired as Master Chief Avionics Technician, after 21 years of service.
It might surprise people to know that he was never assigned to a ship. Vincent used to remark the only time he was ever on a boat was while being transported to a meeting. 0riginally he worked on the electrical systems of P3 aircraft. This was part of anti-submarine patrolling. The Naval Air Station he worked at prior to his retirement is located in Meridian, Mississippi. At age 40, he seemed to delight in telling people he was retired, but that didn't last very long.
In 1984, Vincent and Sandra moved their family to Brandon, Florida. This was primarily to be close to Sandra's parents in St Petersburg, and attend classes at USF. Vincent worked on a degree in electrical engineering over a period of many years. He was only three credits short of completing his degree.
In 1987, he began working for the United States Postal Service at the Spruce Street location adjacent to Tampa International airport. After 13 years, he retired from his work as an electrical technician. Whenever he was paged for his help they would call for an "ET".
Vincent, predeceased by his wife Sandra, never remarried. At the time of her death they had been married just over 21 years. Vincent is survived by his three children, Melissa, Victoria, and Christopher and multiple fur-kids.
