He took over the Allen R Shuffleboard Co which is known worldwide not only for his manufacturing of the equipment used in the sport of shuffleboard but also for his relentless promotion of the sport both domestically as well as internationally, earning the renowned nickname of The “Shuffleboard King”. In 1975 he founded the Allen Sports Center in Seminole, Florida that supplied many schools, little leagues and families with sports equipment for 43 years. He loved fishing and anything water related and his tales from his many fishing excursions are legendary to this day.
Sam Allen was one of a kind. His humor was contagious as was his optimism and positive attitude. While he loved the business dearly, nothing was as important to him as his family.
