Born in Norristown, PA on September 16, 1939, Bud was the son of the late Austin and Rachel (Hewitt) Llewellyn. He lived in various locations in his lifetime, spending most of his adult life in the Tampa Bay Area until being moved to Aventura at the Bay in St. Petersburg, FL in 2024.
He graduated from Penns Grove Regional High School in South Carolina. He attended Western Maryland College and studied Political Science and played football.
Bud was a military veteran. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp, serving in Japan, South Carolina, and Cuba during the “Bay of Pigs” invasion.
He was employed by Westinghouse Credit Corporation, which was later acquired by Chrysler Financial Corporation, Whirlpool Financial Corporation, and Sun Groves until he retired in 2002. He began a partnership with several other men opening group homes for people with disabilities.
Bud is survived by his wife, Karen (Vincent) Llewellyn, his brother, Edward Llewellyn of Portersville, PA, his 6 children Stephen (Elaine) Llewellyn of Cape Fair, MO, Michael (Angela) Llewellyn of Seminole, FL, Lauren A. (Michael) Waters of Adelaide, Australia, Austin M. Llewellyn of St. Petersburg, FL, Aaron V. Llewellyn of NYC, NY, and Collin S. (Kasey) Llewellyn of Los Angeles, CA, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He enjoyed dining with family and friends and fellowshipping with them around the table. Throughout his life, he was a faithful member and volunteer at his local church serving as a deacon, elder, greeter, and participant in weekly bible study groups. He loved to mentor people, coach, read, golf, scuba dive, swim, and sail. He loved sports cars and owned several throughout his years! He enjoyed volunteering at a local hospice center and the YMCA. Bud also served as a mentor and guide to many through his involvement in his local MS Society.
The memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Calvary Church in East Lake, FL at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at https://www.nationalmssociety.org/
