Rosita Aquino Angeles passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday May 26, 2016 at her home in Jersey City at the age of 80 years old. Rosita is survived by her loving husband Benjamin Angeles as well as her five children: Ferdinand, Jocelyn, Geronimo, Michael and Jasmine. She also lives on through her ten grandchildren: Bryan, Frederick, Anabelle, Mikayla, Matthew, Mark, Aidan, Ryley, Ethan and Avryl. She is also survived by her sister, Amor Aquino.
Rosita was born on July 24, 1935 in Pagsanjan, Philippines located in the province of Laguna to her parents Emilio Aquino and Natividad Abanilla Aquino. Benjamin and Rosita would meet before a wedding when Ben picked up Rosie with their Jeepney. What was initially a coincidence ended up being an act of fate that would bring these two together that evening. While attending separate universities—Far Eastern University for her, University of the East for him—Ben and Rosie became inseparable. He later requested that she would be his date to the ROTC Military Ball, of course she accepted. Even though they had been apart through college, Ben would always wait for her when leaving class. Ben and Rosie would soon after marry and start a family then immigrate to the United States. Rosita and Ben brought her family to the United States in 1976 where she worked as an accountant with Time Warner. The Angeles Family moved to Jersey City where they would eventually lay their roots. Rosita loved her family very much and her favorite thing to do is cook for them. Rosita would later go on to establish a very successful catering business with a loyal foundation of clientele. Ben would be there to help her fulfill her passion for cooking towards the end of her time with us. Ben never left his wife’s side. “Wherever she goes, I will be there with her—Always,” Ben says. This is how it was to be from the first date up until her final moments. Friends and family, join us for a memorial in her honor at:Mack Memorial Home in Secaucus, New Jersey
