Violette was born in Ramallah, Palestine on December 13, 1934 to Soud and Nazha Kassees. She met and married her love Issa Harb at age 20, and they lived in various places throughout the Middle East before settling in Seattle permanently in 1974. Together with their five children, they started Shoreline Family Auto Care, a car service garage and gas station that is family owned and operated to this day.
Violette was a fixture in Seattle's Arab community, brightening every room she entered with her infectious laugh, her shining smile, and her endless optimism and courage. She will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Ramza Kassees and Suad Ahwal, and her eldest son Mazen Harb. Violet is survived by her husband Issa, daughter in law Hwayda (Mazen) Harb, daughter Nola Harb, son Maher (Suna) Harb, daughter Marlyn (Duane) Loughrey, and son Basil (Rachel) Harb; her grandchildren Gina (Jimmy) Polly, Nader Salha, Sam (Amanda) Harb, Kyle Loughrey, Rami Salha, Corey Loughrey, Ranna Harb, Jessy Harb, Alec Harb, Tyler Harb, and Nolan Harb; great grandchildren Violet Harb, Daniel Polly, and Lynken Mangini-Loughrey; and siblings Jacob (Nahida) Kassees, Easa (Ayda) Kassees, Afaf (Kamal) Haddad, and Mousa (Nijmeh) Kassees.
