Trung Vu was my childhood friend and I knew his mother and father. His father would take us fishing, swimming, crabbing, etc. We would play Twisted Metal for the PlayStation all day and it was fun as hell. As we got older our families moved a lot so we lost contact. Trung’s father lives under my mom’s basement and I was how is he doing all the time. My biggest regret is not reaching out to Trung before all this. R.i.p bro, I wouldn’t trade our childhood friendship for anything else and I miss you. 

I may or may not met you before in person, but it's sad to see one of the Vanpla member gone. I hope you Rest In Peace. :'(

Time has come and gone fast. From when we first met with our car crew years ago and throughout your life we known each other. It sure was a pleasure and blessing to have you as a friend and knowing you. You could definitely livin up any gathering with just your smile and laugh. I have enjoyed our many times together and will treasure them forever. You are gone and will never be forgotten my friend. Rest In Peace Trung. Until we see each other again. 

Trung, even though we barely knew each other you've always shown yourself to be approachable and engaged in any conversation that was going on.  Never hiding your funny personality and cracking jokes, it was always great seeing you walk in because you just brought that fun energy with you.  You will truly be missed..RIP. 

Trung, I was truly shocked when I heard of your passing. You had come to visit with me and buy some paint just three hours before your accident. I am glad that I got to see you because I hadn’t seen you for about five months. You were an amazing painter, a great friend, and one of the most genuine people I’ve ever known. I think we were the only two people in the world that appreciated the Napoleon Dynamite cartoon.  I remember spending days going out raiding in Pokémon Go and chasing down rare spawns. We met through you coming to my Games Workshop, but somehow we only ever played one game against each other. I can’t tell you how many people have stopped by to just share great stories about you. You will be missed. 

Trung, I know I only saw you once or twice a year at our family dinners  but if it wasn't for you, our dinners would be so awkward! Funny how that works since you're the in law but you always knew how to break the ice and have us all talking and laughing. Thank you for always bringing that energy and more importantly, thank you for taking care of Cilla and making her happy. You are and will be missed so much. RIP <3

I didn't know Trung as long as a lot of the folks here, but in the short number of years I knew him, we had a number of geeky fun times that I will never forget. Trung and I were both into Gundam models, and I've always admired his work. My best memory with Trung was our road trip to Vancouver to meet our friends in Vanpla and participate in their model contest. Both of us took home many medals, but Trung's amazingly done EX-S was the real winner and admired by everyone at the show. Trung's model work was of the highest craftsmanship and I will deeply miss sharing our work with each other. I will also miss his sense of humor, his love for all things in nerd culture and genuine hatred of Bumblebee, which I thought of the whole time while bingeing the latest Transformers series on Netflix. Rest in Peace, Trung.

I remember the car meets in some random parking lots, and garages when we first met Trung, he was a goofy hilarious dude that always made us laugh and left a first impression that we could never forget. We could be talking about anything and he could flip it around and make it funny.  It was a rare type of humor that was contagious and you just wanted to be in his presence! We would talk up games, and shoes, to what car we would like to own next or what our next mod would be on our cars. We hung out and played board games. Every moment was a positive experience and truly showed the kind of character Trung was. He will be truly miss by many and definitely left an impression on everyone's hearts. Can't believe you're gone bro, rest in peace. Love Chris and Jenny. 

I still can’t wrap my head around you being gone. We met at Games Workshop and became friends. Everything from cars to Gundam, WoW and gaming in general. Your laugh was infectious, You always made things fun. You were the first person to congratulate me when I got engaged and the first person to tell me you were coming to the wedding. The world has lost a really good guy. You will be missed brother.

Trung, bro i still can’t wrap my head around the fact you’re gone but i know you’re in a better place watching over us now. So many great memories with you. So many times we would laugh til we cried. It’s so easy to get caught up when life happens and i wish so badly that i saw you more these last few years. I remember the trip to Oregon we took for Tuanh’s 21st birthday and you were telling me how much you liked Priscilla lol. You’ll forever be in our hearts and we’ll miss you always. One love brother

I met Trung through my husband, Trevor.  Most of my memories of Trung revolve around PAX. Since Trevor and I live in Bellingham, there was several years in a row that we stayed at Trung and Priscilla's house. Trung was always a generous host. For example, Trung would always offer to drive us all down to PAX even though Trevor and I own a hybrid. Even though the days at PAX were long, Trung could always make me laugh. Trung also always had a smile on his face.  One of my favorite memories of PAX is Trung, Priscilla, Trevor, and I running around PAX trying to collect PAX pins. 

Trung taught me so much about Gundam and painting- he had a fantastic sense of humor and I'll always treasure the memories I had with him.  Sakuracon 2019, and the years prior he would set up a gundam painting contest and would help people get into the hobby. Rest easy man.

I still can't believe you are gone. I can't begin to explain what this world lost without you. You were and will always be one of my best friends. Your laugh lit up a room and could always turn even a dark day into bright one. I'm sorry I wasn't there as much as I wanted to be the last couple years. We are going to kick it when I get there as much as you want. 

You have left a hole in all our hearts. I hope you are at peace and know that we are all thinking about you. Thank you for all the memories and good times.

I remember the very first trip I took with Trung. He, Priscilla, Kiel, and I went to Galveston for a weekend where we rode a surrey bike along the beach, searched endlessly for Kiel’s crab legs, and played Uno for hours. It didn’t occur to me until that night that I was an hour from home sleeping in a hotel room with people I barely knew (except for Kiel), yet I felt safe and at home. This trip also birthed a chant that Trung and I would sing for years to come: “ah-huh, oh yeah!” I remember when I chanted it, it felt like Trung was still with me even when he had gone back to Seattle. I chanted it so often that I even got in trouble for it at school. That’s how fun it was to be around Trung. Everywhere he was, it felt like a party. He could make a trip to the grocery store feel like an adventure. He could brighten up any room he entered and make a stranger feel like they had known him for years. He had so many passions and carried so much love for his friends and family; for Priscilla, for Quentin, his dog, Hiro, and countless others. And his laugh. It was intoxicating. Even when I thought I had laughed my lungs out from his jokes alone, his laugh would take it to a whole new level. 

Trung, you taught me that family transcends blood and surnames. You were like the big brother I never had. Even though the time I got to spend with you was limited, you were still such a big part of my life, and I’m forever grateful for the memories we shared. I'll love and miss you. Rest easy.

Where do I begin? You were the first person i’ve met when I moved out to WA like 13 years ago. You introduced me to people that I consider my best friends till this day. You and I always had laughs together and shared some great memories. From the car shows, the house parties, the kbbq meet ups, the sleep overs where you had your damn tv on all night, the BRG hangouts, you always clowning on me, TcTrio origins, i’ll ALWAYS cherish those memories. Your laugh was contagious and always the life of the party. You had a big heart and were there for friends when in need. Going to be hard not to see you at social events anymore but you’ll always be in my heart and mind. I miss you brother...alot. Life won’t be the same without you Trung...

Trung Vu, you were definitely one of a kind. Blunt, sarcastic, but caring. I would be butt hurt at times, but I knew it was because you were right and cared. One of our most memorable adventures was reminded to me recently. That night that we drove to almost Shoreline to Carkeek Park, ran through a pitch black forest in sprinkling rain, with 20 minutes left to catch a perfect larvitar that had an hour spawn time. What a night. That night our friendship really blossomed. We went to Beth's Cafe after, where I failed the  challenge miserably. We didn't get home until 4-5am that morning haha. We had so many experiences together. You took me to my first baseball game, we went to your first football game, we went to PAX and Sakura-Con together and so much more. I wish there could be more. You were gone too fast and far too soon. I wish I could have done more for you, I wish I could have gotten you home safely, and I wish your loved ones weren't hurting. I love you man. Rest in Paradise. I will always think of you. Always. 

I remember walking Des Moines Marina playing Pogo and meeting Trung for the first time. Trung    introduced me to long lasting friends I cherish to this day. Trung was the one who helped me get PAX tickets for the first time and was a overall amazing person to be around. Trung you always found a way to make us laugh and you will be truly miss bro! Thank you for being my friend Trung. Much love! 

Trung... man.... This guy was the first person I met in Washington playing pogo and he introduced me to EVERYONE. Seriously. Not a kinder person out there. I was Some outsider Mexican kid he met playing pogo. And 2 days in, him and I are playing pogo talking like we’ve been friends for years. Literally took me under his wing and introduced me to the friends I have to this day. Amazing memories at Conventions, and all those things. He actually remembered my birthday every year and sent me A little something. Truly am blessed to know someone who’s so generous, and accepting. He was there for One of the toughest times in my life, and he put a hand on my shoulder and said you’ll be okay. I will always be thankful for you, and everyone you brought into my life. Thank you Trung. 

Back in the early days of Pokémon Go, we kept seeing the same group of people that looked so kind & fun every time we went to the local parks to play. Those people turned out to be Trung with some of his family and friends. We kept running into each other so frequently that one day we all decided to meet and synch up to play together. Who knew that all of this would blossom into such a fun & strong friendship with Trung, his wonderful girlfriend, & her brother. From there we would attend conventions together, play video games for hours straight, & have late night dinners together. No matter where we were, Trung was always the positive, humor-filled, life of our group. He knew how to make things fun, especially at conventions. He was always so kind & supportive. A great example of that, we were attending Sakura-con together and he had one of his beautiful custom Gundam builds entered in a contest, his Ex-s MG I believe. Trung was very talented and had amazing artistic skills. He of course ended up winning that contest, because his Gundam work was absolutely phenomenal. For winning, he received a Trophy & multiple Funko Pops. Instead of keeping the prize all to himself, he gave each of us in our group one of his Funko Pops. It stays right under my computer monitor to this day. The photo provided is a picture we had taken of all of us after his winnings. 
This is just an example of his kindness. He was always giving & made sure everyone felt included. 
Another thing he liked to do was secretly pay for all of our food during our dinner outings. He was SO good at it, he would pay for our food without us even noticing until we were all finished eating. Every time I couldn't get over how thoughtful he was. It is definitely a kindness and tradition we will follow and continue to do throughout our lives. 
We are so very blessed to have been your friend. Love you Trung and miss you so much. 

I used to work with Trung, and we stayed friends after he left. I'll remember his goofy smile and laugh. He was always a warm hearted friend and this world is a little darker now that he's gone.

I didn't know Trung as well as others but what I do know is he was a kind & funny man. I met him through the Scion crew & chatted on multiple occasions during car meets & events. He will be truly missed by all & never forgotten. RIP Friend <3

I am going to miss Trung so much.

I met Trung through my boyfriend, and we played World of Warcraft and Overwatch together. He had a way of befriending everyone he encountered, and we soon became good friends. We had so many fun times running dungeons and so many memories. Trung was someone that loved to help people and always went out of his way to make sure his friends were taken care of. He could always tell if something was wrong, and would do whatever he could to make me feel better. He was a genuine friend.
 
I'll miss his laugh and the way he loved to play pranks on people. I'll miss having someone to talk to about Pokemon and I'll miss hearing about the latest sneaker launches. He helped me pick out computer parts, and he taught me that people are actually "into" keyboards :)

Most of all, I'll miss his company, and it just won't be the same without him. I'm thankful for the time we had and will forever cherish those memories.

My story about Trung is a little bit different than others.  To me Trung was Kupp, and I met him playing World of Warcraft.  He had an aura about him, it wasn’t only his proficiency at everything he did, or how smart and knowledgeable he was, but it was his presence which I can only describe as magnetic.  

In our game you need to interact with hundreds of people, and honestly Kupp was the center of all of it, everyone loved Kupp.  If I had to describe what he meant to our community, he was the heart of our team.  We had our own little in game ceremony for him and over 70 people attended:  

-One person said she played with him since he was in high school and he was like family.
-Another that Kupp was the first friend he made when he moved to Seattle and made him feel right at home.
-Yet another said that he was going through one of the hardest times of his life and he lived in Europe, but Kupp still made the time to make sure he was ok.

To Trung “Kupp” Vu, Love, Peace, and Aloha my brother.  Forever missed, and forever remembered.  Our thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and girlfriend.

There are so many memories I have of Trung, as I've known him for over 20 yrs. I first new of Trung as a fellow customer of a collectibles store called A Galaxy Beyond when I was about 7 yrs old. After moving away from Bellingham, 

I later befriended Trung in middle  school at a hobby store called Eagles. He simply was magnetic. As a middle schooler, his painted miniatures were so much more dynamic than everyone elses, and it was obvious he had truly creative mind. As many others have shared, his laugh was contagious. I remember us one time staying up over 48 hrs, just to say we did it, and being so delusional that we ended it with us bobbing around in our chairs staring pass one another with mostly closed eyes. I think everyone else at the game store was confused. 

When Trung moved to Seattle, I fell out of touch, but just a handful of years later we randomly ran into each other at the Penny Arcade eXpo. Since then, it had become a yearly ritual for Trung to buy the  tickets, and for all of us to do 4 days of averaging 4 hrs a sleep a night. It was comical how adamant Trung was to get all of us there as soon as possible and stay at the convention as long as possible. The days would go by so fast though, and who knows how many hours we spent telling the same old stories from the past.

From hobby advice to maniacal laughing to so many memories in between, you will always be in my memories as an inspiration and a truly gifted individual, Trung.

Trung where do I begin, I remember when we first met. I asked if your TC was riding on coil overs and you gave me the world disgusted look and said it’s riding on airs. Month after that we were grouped up on a project in Chun’s class, I remember you asking me to give you a ride to and from school. I was trying to say no but ended up being your ride for the whole semester. To me I was thinking I’ll just give this dude a ride and that is that. But here we are 5 years later me mourning your passing. When we were driving back to class from lunch you made a joke that we would be friends and I’ll probably die old age at a retirement home we were going stay due to heart attack of you pranking me to hard cause I scare easily. I laughed it off, but boy do I want what you said to be true my friend. You might be gone for now, but I will carry your memory with me until it’s my time. 

It’s been a few years since I have seen him. It was even longer since we hung out. But back in 2007-2009 I met and hung out with him several times in the Scion days. Always a great personality. Always with a joke. Always making you smile. Just an all around great guy to be around and enjoy the car scene with. Will definitely miss Trung. My deepest condolences to his family and girlfriend. This is one of my favorite pics with him. Just living it up being goofballs not a care in the world. 

Trung could make me laugh until I ran out of air, and just as I neared my next breath, his boisterous laugh would only make me laugh harder. It's this experience of unrestrained, relentless laughter I’ll never forget.

One of my favorite memories is surprising each other and taking photos for each others’ graduations. Right before my graduation ceremony, Trung messaged me to say congratulations and that he wished he could be in Texas to watch me walk. As I left the ceremony, I looked up to see him and family from Seattle right in front of my eyes— he was PRANKING me, AGAIN!!! The happiest prank ever. This remains one of the most touching moments and brightest days of my life.

Trung also taught me almost all of what I know about photography and camera equipment. I wanted his opinion on everything from  electronics to shoes to food. In my eyes, things weren’t worthy unless Trung thought so, too. He and Priscilla bought me a Seahawks jersey for Christmas one year—ever since then, I wouldn’t support any other team. He introduced me to Din Tai Fung— no Xiao Long Bao will ever top theirs. He was the first to buy me a drink in Seattle after turning 21—I felt HONORED when he agreed with my self-proclaimed ‘heavyweight’ status. He let me use his camera lens, and since then I’ve been saving up to buy my own of that exact kind—no other lens will do.

It is an understatement to say that Trung has influenced so many parts of my life. The world lost one of the most multi-talented, adventurous, passionate, and HILARIOUS people. But more than that, the world lost one of the most loving people—Trung loved Priscilla and his family in a way nobody else could. Behind everything he did—from making jokes to going on adventures to drinking bubble tea together—was his love for others and care for his relationship with family and friends. I love and miss you, Trung. You will always be an inspiration to me. Rest in paradise.

I will miss your energy and presence so much.  You made every event we went to so much more fun because you were there.  I hope you are at peace and know that we miss you so much.

Trung was my brother's best friend, as I'm sure he was to many others. I considered him family for how he treated my family as his own. He was loyal, funny, charismatic, and overall just a great guy. I recall all his funny stories from his secret shopper days, and always going with my brother Tyler to visit him at work. He cared so much for others and would always be there when you needed a friend to talk to. He was always honest and genuine. When we were younger he always looked out for me when I needed it because I was his friends little sister, he would give me rides or take me to the store or be there when I needed to talk. The last time I saw him we went to eat Korean BBQ. I remember telling the waitress my son was 7 (really 8 at the time) to get child pricing, and Trung said omg, Haven are you really only 7, and my son immediately shouted back no, im 8! right in front of the waitress and we all busted out in uncontrollable laughter because we inadvertently got caught! Trung's laughter was contagious, and that is how I will always remember him, laughing with a smile on his face. Trung, I hope you rest in peace, you were taken entirely too soon, and you will always be thought of and missed tremendously! You and Priscilla are the best people, and the kindest friends. Big hugs and much love to you both!
