Wishing comfort to all of Sheryl's family.  I have missed her so
much this past year since she left us - her laugh and smile and
listening ear.  I miss her genuine concern and sharing life with

Foolishly, I have looked for 2 months in the Seattle Times for Sheryl's obituary.
Thursday, our lunch group met and, of cause, we talked about our missing friend. And, I learned about on-line obituaries.
Sheryl and I were always laughing about our being technologically challenged.  She may not have thought of this on-line stuff either.
 Seiji, Simon and Amy, know that your wife and mother was loved and respected. And you were the very best part of her life.

I remember when Sheryl lost her parents in 4th grade in a car accident. I still remember going to the funeral home with friends. It was not an easy time for the family.
Sheryl was amazing as were her sisters. I also spent time in Girl Scouts with her older sister, Sandy. 
I miss Sheryl and I was hoping to connect with her more this year when the pandemic lifted. I am sorry I didn't do it sooner. I will miss you old friend. May God bless you and comfort your family.

Sheryl was my charge nurse and dear friend.  I had worked with her as an agency nurse for several years.  She was so kind, helpful and loving to me that when I thought about settling into one place, I knew I wanted to work with Sheryl.  Thankfully I got the job on 6 East and worked with her for 5 years.  Since we retired, we enjoyed walks and many conversations. I miss her smile, her listening ear and her warm heart.  Thank you for your friendship Sheryl. I will never forget you.

I have known Sheryl for many years and remember the joy she brought into a room.  Her interest in others was genuine, kind and deep.  I will long remember conversations with Sheryl and her unbounded love for life.

May the countless wonderful memories of Sheryl sustain all of us--family and friends--in our grief at her passing.

I have known Sheryl for many years as a friend and classmate through grammar school and high school.  We re-engaged as friends at many high school reunions.  At the last class reunion, a small group of classmates including Sheryl met for breakfast to laugh and remember old times.   At one point during breakfast Sheryl told us how grateful and thankful she was to have friends who helped her during a difficult time in grammar school.  I’ll never forget hearing what we meant to her.  

Throughout her life she has been there for so many people as shown by the thoughts expressed by all who knew her.  What a wonderful and caring life she lived.  These memories will last us forever and put smiles on our faces.  

Rest in peace!  My family sends  our deepest condolences to her husband, entire family and dear friends.

I’ll miss your laughter and love friend.

I met Sheryl 22 years ago at Swedish Ballard and worked with her throughout my career at Swedish Cherry Hill. She was an extraordinary nurse but she was also my friend. I loved the way she always called me « dear » with love whenever she talked to me. I have many wonderful memories of adventures with spent together with our beloved friends. I know the love she has for her family and friends and she lived life to the fullest, Loved by many. I will miss her but my love for Sheryl is forever!

Your caring ways and gentle voice were so very nurturing. You helped me so much as a friend and mentor over the years that I was blessed to know you. You always made me feel as if I was very special and I now know that was because you were so very special.

I miss you my dearest and oldest friend.  We became the best of friends at Kodak Park school #41 and experienced all that life had to offer us as young girls:  the bicycling we did around Rochester was monumental.  Scouting, sleepovers, cheerleading and all the wonderful music of the 60s that we listened to together.  
We both showed up at the JMHS 20th reunion and that began the tradition of seeing each other every 5 years which was the highlight of those gatherings.  In your last email to me right before your birthday I was hoping we would see each other in 2021 and then I could tell you of our wonderful trip to Japan. Thank you for sharing your life with me over these many years in stories of Seiji, your children and the sisters!  
I am so sad to lose you.

Sheryl I miss you. You were so loving and supportive to me. Your sincere and positive attitude always encouraged me.

My memories of Sheryl are from our families growing up in Rochester through high school. The 5 McElhenys’ and the 5 Sandys ‘  lives were intertwined . Nostalgic memories of childhood. Her wonderful smile is what first comes to mind .  She seems to have gone on to live an exciting , loved filled life. I hope her family and friends are comforted by that and will take that joyful spirit into their hearts

I met Sheryl in 1991 when I moved to Seattle. We quickly became close friends.  We walked many times a week around Green Lake and she shared with me the joys and challenges of parenting and life and love.  She prepared me for raising my own  2 sons.  I left Seattle in 1997, but stayed in touch with Sheryl, mostly with yearly Christmas cards.  I will miss those.
My husband and I spent one night with her a few years ago when we passed through Seattle and Sheryl and I talked late into the night, catching up on life.   This past year we reconnected via zoom and it was wonderful to see her smile and hear her voice more often.  My dear dear Sheryl, I will miss you.  Love, hugs and prayers to Seiji, Amy, Simon. 

Sheryl and I were friends for over 30 years.  When she retired several years ago, we spent even more time together.  Long walks and talks over coffee were our favorite things.  I loved her and will miss her.

I met Sheryl during high school but spent more time with her in the years after graduation. She once helped me during a personal crisis when no one else in my life had any answers. I'll never forget her sensitivity, kindness and generosity at that time. Beyond that, she was a cheerful, spontaneous joyful friend. May she rest in peace. ⚘

Hey pal, I miss you already.  We spoke right before you left for Japan a few months ago.  I have so many wonderful, funny, hard, sad, and joyous memories of your life and our friendship. 
Driving across the country on that insane trip to get you back to work on time is still the best. Bringing Seiji to meet my mom and dad. Coming to visit me, and instead, talking nursing to my mom for hours on end.  
Staying with you when I got to San Francisco and going to the ocean for the first time. At 2:00 in the morning. Who does that? 
I love you, pal. I will miss you. We didn't see each other much, but the last time we did, we took a ride out the Hamlin Beach Parkway because you wanted to see it once more. 
I'll see you again wherever we end up.  I'm glad you are out of pain and whole again. 
I wish everyone in the family my deepest condolences and love. I will keep you in my heart and my prayers through this time of sorrow. Know that Sheryl brought so much laughter and joy to so many of us over the years, she will never be lost from our memories.


Such a bright smile is now shining brightly in the sky. We went through high school together, where she was a friend to everyone.

I went to John Marshall high school with Sheryl in Rochester, NY.   She was a happy, lovely girl in school, always smiling and sounds like she had a happy, wonderful life.  My prayers to her family.  
She was a sweet lady.  We’ll miss you Sheryl.  

I went through High School with Sheryl. She had a winsome smile and a personality to match. RIP dear classmate. There is one more star in heaven.
