Linda was an artist, landscape architect, home builder, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and loved each of these with all of her heart.
Linda was born in Seattle and was the second youngest of five children to William (Bill) and Birdye Wienir. She attended Franklin High School and ultimately graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Landscape Architecture. Her love of the arts also took her to Cornish College of the Arts where her talents in ballet resulted in an invitation to dance with the Joffrey Ballet.
Linda raised three children while attending the University of Washington to gain her degree in Landscape Architecture and went on to run her own award-winning landscape architecture business. She and Gerry also found joy in the custom home building business.
Linda and Gerry celebrated their 40th anniversary last July. They loved the outdoors and spent numerous weekends skiing, hiking, boating, kayaking, camping and exploring the wilderness of the Cascade Mountains to fill their exploration desires. She loved creating close relationships with friends and family and shared these outdoor adventures with many. Linda was known for her warm and gracious smile that touched everyone’s hearts.
Linda cherished her time with family and friends, and made you feel like you were the only one in the room during her deep conversation with you. She loved to know and understand your interests and thought deeply about them for many days following family gatherings and friends events.
Linda is predeceased by her former husband, Irwin Jay Bloom, whom she was married to for 13 years and lived in Centralia, Washington. There she shared her love of ballet with students for many years.
Linda raised three children and they include Catherine Bloom (Michael Frey), Marc Bloom (Cheri Bloom) and Julie Israel (David Israel). She is survived by all. Linda is also survived by her husband Gerry Haugen, grandchildren Samuel Hohn (Lara Hohn), Sabina Bloom, Mikaela Israel, Sydney Israel, and great grandson Henry Hohn. Additionally, Linda is survived by her siblings Rochelle Casserd (Fred), Sandra Vidgoff, William (Bill) Taraday (Barrie), and Joyce Mesher (Jerry).
