A cherished beginning took place on May 22, 1927, when Levi Brown was born in Oxford, Mississippi to the union of Henry and Elmira Brown. Levi was the only child of this union. Levi was entered into Christ at an early age and attended high school in Oxford, Mississippi.
With a pursuit for a better life and a willingness to work hard, Levi
entered into the United States Army. Levi was awarded several medals and commendations during his career in the Army before being honorably discharged on November 30, 1968.
Levi entered into holy matrimony with Inez Smith on July 15, 1953.
Mr. Brown then started a new career with GTE. During his career with the renowned communications company, he also received several certificates of achievement and various awards showing his leadership skills. Levi later retired as a manager for GTE in 1989.
Throughout his retirement, Levi enjoyed several different hobbies including putting on his ?blue jumpsuit? and doing his yard; working on the computer and emailing his grandchildren. Levi also enjoyed his electronic gadgets. But most of all he loved to go on cruises and travel. Levi got to enjoy cruises as far as Turkey and Greece and as near as Alaska.
On December 29, 2003 our Lord called Levi home. But his sense of humor and the things he has done will be remembered always.
