Karl proudly served his country in Vietnam, receiving several commendations for his service. After being honorably discharged he began a career as a Parts Specialist at Boeing, where he worked until his retirement.
Karl was an avid, lifelong collector of many interesting and unique items. His recall and knowledge of many things, including his detailed research of family history, was always fascinating to listen to. Karl will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father Frank E. Elder, Jr., his mother, Vaiola G. Franzen his stepfather, Arthur Schneider and his brother Lyle E. Elder.
He is survived by his niece Kristi Elder, grand nephew Luke Shuck, sister-in-law, Carla Elder, as well as many other relatives on the Elder and Franzen side.
Graveside service will be held at Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park, Seattle on Friday, October 13th at 2pm.
