Ingeborg Bowers was born in Germany, April 1929. She lived through the difficult years of World War II including the firebombing of Dresden. She escaped East Berlin in 1954 and worked for US military families as a Nanny. Ingeborg eventually immigrated to the US in 1960 and moved to Seattle in 1962 to enjoy the World’s Fair.
In 1962 she met and married Fred Bowers, the love of her life. She worked for Swedish Hospital for 35 years, beginning as a Nursing Assistant, then as a Monitor Tech and eventually as a Unit Secretary.
Ingeborg was liked and respected by everyone who knew her. She had a keen wit, was fun loving, always bright and a bit strong willed. She and Fred never had children but she became the adopted mother, grandmother and great grandmother to Ricki LaZelle her children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Joachim Käsler who is living in Germany.
She will be missed greatly.
