Chang was born on July 8th, 1939, to Kim Myung Han and Lee Kan Nan in Seoul, South Korea. He was the third eldest sibling of eight children. After graduating from university and completing the mandatory two-year military service, Chang immigrated to the United States of America in 1967. He completed his Associate of Applied Science in Hotel-Motel Management at Seattle Community College and went on to run a successful travel agency, moving onto hotel-motel ownership and management, and then onto other property ownership opportunities before retiring.
Chang enjoyed his various career fields but loved his family even more. He loved to travel, enjoyed singing and listening to music, and was a big fan of action/adventure movies. He was known for his outgoing personality, his laugh, and his generous and charitable spirit. Chang was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda, and his wife, Soon. He is survived by his son Jim and his wife Rebecca, and their daughter Adelia.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2nd, 2023, at Evergreen Washelli at Noon (11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle, WA).
